Peni Africa is a financial coaching platform operated in Kenya. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal and financial data.

Your assigned coach — to provide coaching services
Payment processors (Paystack) — for transaction processing only
AI services (Anthropic/Google) — for optional AI-powered coaching summaries (anonymized where possible)
Law enforcement — only when legally required

5. Data Storage and Security

Data is stored on secured servers with encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt (never stored in plain text)
Coach Notes are PIN-protected with session-based unlocking
Access logs track who views client data and when
Regular backups ensure data recovery capability

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access — download your data via the Export feature (Excel/JSON/PDF)
Correct — update your profile and financial data at any time
Delete — deactivate your account via Profile settings
Portability — export your complete data in JSON format for use elsewhere
Object — opt out of non-essential communications

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for the duration of your coaching program plus 24 months. After that, data is anonymized or deleted unless you request earlier deletion.

8. Cookies and Local Storage

We use session cookies for authentication and localStorage for dashboard performance. No third-party tracking cookies are used.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes to This Policy

We will notify users of material changes via email or in-platform notification. Continued use after notification constitutes acceptance.
